Enrichment Experiences

Sheep in a Tree offers a variety of enrichment workshops for young children, teachers, and parents. These workshops are currently available in the Detroit area for classrooms, libraries, educational farms, camps, and more. Details are provided below describing each offering. Workshops can be tailored to individual needs and interests. Contact us for more information.

Preschool Age

Each 45 minute preschool enrichment session includes:

  • 25 minutes of interactive nursery rhymes and seasonal storytelling using unique and engaging wooden and woolen playthings.

  • 20 minutes for children to play and create their own stories using individual storytelling kits filled with natural and imaginative loose parts.

$100 per 45-minute session (one class per session)

Kindergarten Age

Each 60 minute kindergarten enrichment session includes:

  • 30 minutes of interactive storytelling including nursery rhymes, fairy tales and seasonal stories.

  • 30 minutes for each child to play and create their own stories using individual storytelling kits filled with natural and imaginative loose parts.

$125 per 60-minute session (one class per session)

Early Elementary Age

Each Early Elementary session includes:

  • 30 minutes of interactive storytelling of the story, A Bag Full of Stories. Children learn the importance and pleasure of sharing stories.

  • 30 minutes for each child to play and share their own “bag full of stories” using individual storytelling kits filled with natural and imaginative loose parts.

$125 per 60-minute session (one class per session)

Curriculum Enrichment

Coming this Spring:

Great programs for both the traditional classroom and homeschoolers adapted for all age levels and abilities

All About Wool and Felt: Learn the Ancient Art of Felting - an incredible natural recourse - children are drawn to the properties of fleece. Learn the history and the how to’s from sheep to product. Wool is used in as an art form as well as a practical resource. Students will learn basic needle felting and wet felting techniques to create their own piece of felt to be used in many ways. 90 minutes.

Collaborative Project - including all students from a school a large felted piece of art work is created for the school hall.
